Dengue fever (DBD) is a disease caused by the bites of mosquito Aedes aegypti, which carries the dengue virus. Symptoms of DBD that are recognized and treated late can be fatal. Therefore, it takes efforts to prevent dengue fever or DBD from yourself and people around the house so that this disease does not become more widespread.

Prevention of dengue fever is important to avoid this risk. The most important way to avoid mosquito bites and dengue fever transmission is by keeping the environment clean, as well as using mosquito repellents to prevent mosquitoes from breeding at home. Here are the right ways to prevent mosquitoes that can be done:

1. Draining and cleaning the bathtub at least once a week is the most important way to prevent dengue fever because stagnant water is a breeding ground for Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. This habit can eradicate the Aedes aegypti mosquito and break the chain of dengue fever transmission.

2. Furniture such as basins, cans, flower pots, buckets, and other shelters can become nests for mosquitoes if not diligently drained. Make it a habit to drain these containers at least twice a week as a preventive measure for dengue fever at home. Afterward, tightly close containers that might harbor mosquitoes. Dispose of old and unused containers so that they do not become a place for stagnant water.

3. Do not let clothes pile up or hang for a long time because it becomes a favorite place for mosquitoes to live. This is because mosquitoes love the scent of the human body. If you do have to put your newly-worn clothes back, fold them and store them in a clean and closed place.

4. Fogging is a way of preventing dengue fever (DBD) en masse by spraying mosquito repellent that can reach a wider area. Using an Insect Exterminator Service can be an option for fogging if you want to do it right. ETOS is an Indonesian Pest Control whose pesticides are safe for the environment and the pesticides released through fogging smoke can spread quickly and kill mosquitoes and their larvae.

5. Unkempt wild plants can become hidden mosquito nests. Especially during the rainy season, not all the water is absorbed into the ground. Sometimes there are still remnants of stagnant water hiding among wild plants and this is where mosquitoes will freely breed to spawn thousands of larvae. You can tidy up the yard or wild plants around the house. Don't forget to drain every pot and cover any puddle holes with soil.

6. Plants such as lavender flowers, peppermint leaves, and geranium flowers can be used as a tool to ward off mosquitoes. Because mosquitoes do not like the scent of these flowers or plants.
