Indonesia is still struggling to eradicate Malaria, which is caused by the bite of the Anopheles mosquito. Anopheles mosquitoes are carriers of a parasite called Plasmodium. When bitten by an Anopheles mosquito, the Plasmodium parasite will be released into the bloodstream to cause malaria.
The Anopheles mosquito itself has a fairly short lifespan of 10 days in the tropics. Anopheles mosquitoes can be found all over the world except Antarctica. Of the approximately 430 Anopheles species, only 30-40 transmit malaria. The rest rarely bite humans or cannot sustain the development of the Malaria parasite.
Anopheles mosquitoes are more active at dusk and night. Anophele mosquitoes will start biting in the evening from six in the evening to six in the morning, indoors or outdoors. It has a weak ability to fly so it is not active if the weather conditions are windy.
Anopheles mosquitoes are found in areas with water or stagnant water. Ponds, swamps and rivers are one of the breeding places for Anopheles mosquitoes.
If you live near places where anopheles mosquitoes breed, it's a good idea to protect yourself regularly. This is done to avoid getting Malaria. Malaria prevention and control can be done by cleaning the environment so that it does not become a mosquito breeding ground, then by reducing the mosquito population itself. Mosquito populations can be controlled by planting mosquito repellent plants such as kecombrang, lemongrass, zodia, lavender, marigolddna and also using Mosquito Repellent Services / Pest Control Indonesia such as ETOS to optimize mosquito population control.
