For every homeowner, cockroaches are one of those pests whose presence is never desirable. The bathroom is one of the most vulnerable areas for cockroaches. Cockroaches often live in bathroom and kitchen drains, where they have a good source of water and food.

If you find cockroaches in your bathroom or kitchen drain, take the steps below to help control them. How to eliminate water sources and cockroach entry points

1. Close the sewer pipe. Use a flashlight to find cracks or holes in the drain pipe. If you find cracks or holes, seal them with appropriate caulk. Caulk all cracks and holes, and openings where electricity or pipes enter through the wall.

2. Fix leaky faucets as stagnant water attracts cockroaches. Also seal cracks and holes around sewer pipes or walls with putty, plaster or cement.

3. Stop condensation or condensation. Wrap foam and insulating tape around pipes that produce condensation. This way, when you remove the water source, the cockroaches will go elsewhere to find water.
