There are tons of mosquito-borne diseases. In fact, according to WHO, at least 725,000 people die each year from mosquito-borne diseases. No wonder mosquitoes top the list of animals that cause the most deaths in the world. That is why mosquitoes in the house need to be eradicated by contacting **mosquito repellent services** to avoid the disease.

So, what diseases are transmitted through mosquitoes?

**Dengue Fever (DHF)**

DHF is often a seasonal disease, especially during the rainy season. Because during the rainy season, the environment becomes humid, which causes mosquitoes to breed a lot. DHF itself is caused by the dengue virus, which enters the body through the bites of Aedes Albopictus and Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes, which live in tropical to subtropical climates. This disease causes the sufferer to experience fever accompanied by muscle, joint and bone pain. In addition, sufferers will also experience nausea, vomiting, and severe headaches. One of the most common signs of dengue is the appearance of red spots on the skin caused by bleeding.

**Chikungunya**

The disease, first identified in Tanzania in 1952, is caused by the Ribonucleic Acid virus. It is transmitted through Aedes Aegypti and Aedes Albopictus mosquitoes. When attacked by this disease, the sufferer will experience recurrent fever for 3 to 5 days. The disease also causes swollen lymph nodes, pain in the knee joints and other areas, and the appearance of red spots on the feet and hands.

**Malaria**

Another disease that can also be transmitted by mosquitoes through their bites is malaria or more precisely the bite of a mosquito that is already infected with the malaria parasite. Usually, malaria symptoms appear 1 to 2 weeks after infection. However, there are also those whose symptoms only appear a year after being bitten, although cases are rare. Common symptoms include fever, chills, sweating, diarrhea, muscle pain, headache, and vomiting. The scary thing is that malaria sufferers who do not get proper treatment can risk losing their lives.

**Filariasis**

Usually, the disease is categorized based on where the adult worms live in the human body. Meanwhile, the types themselves include body cavity, skin, and lymphatic filariasis. Well, lymphatic filariasis aka elephantiasis disease is the most common cases are encountered. The cause of the disease is the parasite Brugia Timori, Brugia Malayi, or Wuchereria Bancrofti, which enters the human body through the bite of an infected mosquito.
